The Moses of Michelangelo is a masterpiece of the Italian High Renaissance and Manierism. The Scupture is housed in the church of San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome. Commissioned in 1505 by Pope Julius II for his tomb, the subject illustre Moses with horns on his head sign of a contact with god.

2. Fontana Delle Tartarughe, Roma, Italy -

The Fontana delle Tartarughe is a fountain of the late Italian Renaissance, located in Piazza Mattei, in the Sant'Angelo district of Rome, Italy. It was built between 1580 and 1588 by the architect Giacomo della Porta and the sculptor Taddeo Landini.

3. Augustus Of Prima Porta, Roma, Italy -

Augustus of Prima Porta is a 2m high marble statue of Augustus Caesar. It is an innovative and new political artwork to show and impose the role and prestige of emperors of Ancient Rome. The statue is housed in Villa of Livia at Prima Porta, near Rome. A travel back into the ancien Rome!

4. Musei Capitolini, Roma, Italy -

The birth of the Capitoline Museums dates back to 1471 when Pope Sixtus IV donated to the Roman people a group of bronze statues preserved until then to the Lateran, which constituted the initial nucleus of the collection. The collections were subsequently increased by the popes with works from the excavations of Rome, from the Vatican or purchased specifically for the museum, such as the Albani collection.

5. Laocoön, Roma, -

Master piece of the Art History, this sculpture must be one of the most studied around the world. Laocoön, the son of Acoetes, is a figure in Greek and Roman mythology and the Epic Cycle. He was a Trojan priest who was attacked, with his two sons, by giant serpents sent by the gods. Made around 40 BC it looks like it could have been made by a Michelangelo!

6. The Rape of Proserpina, Roma, Italy -

The Rape of Proserpina is a large Baroque marble sculptural group by Italian artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini, executed between 1621 and 1622. Bernini was only twenty-three years old at its completion. It depicts the Abduction of Proserpina, where Proserpina is seized and taken to the underworld by the god Pluto.

9. David by Bernini, Roma, Italy -

David is a life-size marble sculpture by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The sculpture was one of many commissions to decorate the villa of Bernini's patron Cardinal Scipione Borghese.
